Well the hunt was on a for a solid base car, didnt matter what the engine or interior was like as long as the body was in good condition and rot free.

The plans were it had to big fast, handle well and have plenty of grip.

We found a good base car not so far from where we were, so a short trip with the car and trailer to collect it was on the cards.

Once it was back in the garage we removed the GTI 8v engine ready for its new engine.

The engine was stripped out and was replaced with a low mileage VR6 engine we had spare.

It wasn't long before the engine was sat in the bay ready to be plumbed in

The VR6 wiring loom has now been plugged in, replacing the GTI 8v wiring loom.
